School Of Design Tote Bag

Overview

This tote bag is concept merchandise for the DePaul school of design (SOD). My idea was to create promotional items that were not too on the nose so that people would feel more led to wear it in everyday occasions. I also personally printed the design out on transfer vinyl, and heat pressed it onto a real tote bag.

Approach

The letters of SOD are abstracted into the shape of a CTA train to represent student commuters, as most SOD students take the train to school every day. There are also personal nods such as the brown line stop for the school displayed above the train in a sort of crest, the street number of the Computing and Digital Media building in the right window, and the zip code of the area as the train's car number.
